Yes people the BFM has made it to Albufeira in Portugal for a stag, a joint one, with 20 others!!!!
After our go karting earlier we decided to have a civilised and relatively sober group meal at
The Sizzling Stone Restaurante Capoeira
Rua Victoria no4
Praia da Oura
We arrived about 8.30 ish and had to wait until they could get us two tables of 10.The lads were drinking pints of Super Bock at €1.50, whilst I was on the cokes!!!!
We were given some olives to start whilst we chose our meals.I ordered the mushroom capoeira (€5.95)and garlic bread with cheese (€2.20)for starters, which came very promptly.
The mushroom dish was superb as was the garlic bread and cheese-very garlicky and cheesy!!!!! With Piri Piri oil it really hit the spot
For the main course I went for the surf n turf (€19.95). This was no ordinary surf n turf, this was the best
I’ve ever had!!! Firstly as I don’t eat beef I substituted it with pork medallions, which was easily done. The surf was 3 queen prawns, again new type of prawn but very good. What was great was that it was served on a hot stone, along with mushroom pepper and onion. Served on a wooden tray with steak knife and garlic butter.Along with choice of potatoes (I had chips) and sauce (I had pepper).
Now I am a traditionalist, I like my food served on a round white plate, not a hot stone or skillet or slate or slab of wood. Firstly the juices ran everywhere and you lost them, which meant that the flavour goes, and it’s messy, hence we had bibs!!!!
Food was exceptional, for a one off experience it was gr8, but I could not do this on a regular basis. If you are in Albufeira then you must try this joint!!!!
Once again the BFM shares the food love!!! Ciao down now!!!
