The BFM was in town, just saw the Game of Thrones exhibition at the Waterfront, wow!!!! Felt a bit peckish and was walking down Royal Avenue when I saw a sign purporting to serve the best burgers in Belfast. Well I thought this looks interesting let’s have a look.
UNIT 5 MCAULEY HOUSE

I duly turned into Castle Street and came across Citypicnic. My first impression was fantastic,an All American diner cum supermarket selling everything American!!! I was in heaven, from Lucky Charms to Jellow to cans of pumpkin. Of course there was the deli/diner area. I was very warmly greeted and asked if I wanted a menu. I keenly accepted and was excited, could this really be the best burger in Belfast!?!? I chose the pulled pork burger served in a bun with red onion, lettuce and onion ring (and cheese but I didn’t get any), along with choice of side,I had macaroni cheese. This was for £6.50, very reasonable, and served on a printed news paper in a silver oval dish. The presentation was fab and the all important taste test. It was the best pulled pork I had tasted, I really tasted the pork,it wasn’t swamped in sauce,so I had to add some hot sauce. The mac cheese was good,a tad cool, but very acceptable.
As I don’t eat beef, someone else will have to make the call!!! There was also choice of chicken and veggie burger as well as bagels.
After you could have indulged in ice cream or shakes and shopped for good old American produce.Go check it out and stock up for the 4th of July!!!
Once again the BFM shares the food love!!! Ciao down now!!!
