The BFM and littlest lady sampled the delights of Eat Street. This is all taking place in Hill street. Talking to the street traders they were saying it’s been busy and expect more this evening, especially as it’s a Friday and the weather is good.
The first vendor was Jolly Pies, who had a range of locally sourced and produced pies, such as goat, beef and pheasant and served with/without mash and gravy for a reasonable £4.
Next was cafe Livanto which served fresh tea, coffee and hot chocolate.
Next was Tricycle Trading. This is a novel idea, your food and transport and it’s all pedal power. They were serving pulled pork and brisket.
The Yardbird had a wee stand selling Chicken burgers using there specially marinated chicken and Brazilian
rotisserie for £5. Very handy location for them as they were opposite the main Yardbird. Looked and smelt delicious.
Mourne Seafood Cookery school had their van and I met a friend who said he had the fish n chips and was delicious.
Broughgammon farm was next and we had the billy goat burger. All meat is reared on their farm and all relishes made at home. The goat burger was assembled thus: on a toasted fresh Bap, a layer of pickled beet root was spread then on other bread was mint tzatziki then grated cheese onto which the burger went. Then on top of beet root was lettuce then pickled carrot (to mimic gherkin), then it was all put together. Me and my daughter loved every bite and recommend Broughgammon produce, gr8 for £4.
Next was the Fabulous Food Factory. These guys do genuine Virginian BBQ courtesy of their American chef to provide hog roasts and proper American BBQ.
Gourmet Street Dogs was next and the menu looked gr8, unfortunately all the sausages are beef so I couldn’t eat it, but it’s a fab stand.
Up next was Linen Hill, who were serving pulled pork and pork dogs. Would have liked to try it,maybe another day.
Last but not least was Harnetts Oil. I have to stand corrected, in a previous blog I said they started in 2008, it was actually 2007!!!!
So there you have it take your pick, get down now,it closes at 11pm tonight. There was also some entertainment.
Once again the BFM shares the food love!!! Ciao for now
